World Mental Health Day – Gateshead 10th October
- Date:05 Oct 2017
- Category: News
World Mental Health Day is observed on 10 October every year, with the overall objective of raising awareness of mental health issues around the world and mobilising efforts in support of mental health.
The Day provides an opportunity for all stakeholders working on mental health issues to talk about their work, and what more needs to be done to make mental health care a reality for people worldwide and in their local communities.
Gateshead have a proud tradition of supporting World Mental Health Day and this year are fortunate to have access to the Iconic Shipley Art Gallery as the 2017 Venue. You can expect this year’s event to be a festival of art and culture. This event as always will be a free event which will include food and refreshments as well as numerous mental health themed activities and taster sessions. The public will be soothed and entertained by a live acoustic music corner featuring talented local musicians. There will also be the opportunity for local and regional mental health organisations to exhibit their services and engage with the mental health community. This is not an event to miss if you have an interest in the type and quality of mental health services that are available to the Gateshead public or just want to enjoy all the many free activities that will be on hand for the day.
