Think ahead and don’t run out of medicines this Easter

Doctors in Newcastle and Gateshead are encouraging patients to plan their healthcare over the Easter break.
They are asking you to think ahead and make sure you get your repeat prescriptions before your GP surgery closes on Good Friday. This will save you the stress and hassle of possibly running out of medicine over the break.
NHS Newcastle Gateshead Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) Chair and local GP Dr Guy Pilkington said: “As most GP surgeries will be closed over the Easter break we would encourage patients to order any repeat prescriptions they need in plenty of time so they have a good supply over Easter.
“You really don’t want to spoil this precious leisure time by having to rush around trying to get a prescription at the last minute, putting pressure on both yourself and NHS services.
“If you ensure you have an adequate supply of your regular medicines then all you and your family have to do is enjoy a happy and stress-free Easter.”
